Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Columbia University has a tradition of being at the forefront of pediatric clinical care and research. The division is committed to providing outstanding clinical service, participating in high quality basic and clinical research in addition to offering an excellent training experience to fellows, residents and medical students. Members of the division participate in a broad range of investigative activities including inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, fatty liver disease, liver transplantation, chronic hepatitis, cystic fibrosis, lipid metabolism, motility disorders, nutrition and autism. Basic and translational projects include the study of the gut microbiome, gastrointestinal motility and development, intestinal inflammation, adaptive immunity, lipid metabolism, as well as liver injury and fibrosis.
