Despite the title, this is possibly one of the worst collections of Irish music to be released in some time. The inclusion of several well-known Irish songs has no affect on the awfulness of this album; in fact, it is more like a reminder of how good the album could have been. The Greatest Irish Collection of All Time features mostly adult contemporary versions of classic Irish songs, with only the second disc (of three) really containing anything that resembles traditional Irish music. The sheer blandness of some of these tracks is almost offensive, and the inclusion of Roly Daniels' rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings" is a terrible choice. The only reason that song made the cut is because the first disc is actually all the songs from a previous collection called Irish Wedding Songs, just as the second disc is just Irish Pub Songs and the third disc is Irish Eyes Are Smiling. Avoid all four of these collections. There are far better genre samplers than these.
